EC2 Or Not

Do you want to know if a website is running on EC2? Use this tool to figure it out quickly.

For the domain columbia.edu, I found the following IP addresses:

128.59.48.24 - It's not running on EC2 - PTR points to www-csm.cc.columbia.edu


Some EC2 sites: Some surprising sites that aren't running EC2: BTW, if the site CNAME's their sites to the EC2 address, the IP address will show up as an internal address. This is because Amazon uses split dns for EC2 so they see the private addresses.
